Understanding the series' running through your world will make your actions more effective.
You can exit and then rejoin a spiraling series. You do this all the time.
One of the easiest possible alterations of a series is a one-time change of one of its iteration events. A more permanent change of a series is to reschedule (if possible) all of its future iterations.
Iterations have momentum. If you get in the way of that momentum you might be run over or possibly energy will build up as you act as an obstacle and then the energy flows around you into another iteration event.
